Kelaine Blades, UK Marketing Director
At Finecast, our mission is to improve the future of TV for everyone, and our approach is based upon partnerships and alliances underpinned by technology.
That is why we are delighted that Finecast has become a member of the Digital TV Group (DTG).
The DTG is the independent cross-industry association for digital television in the UK. Alongside promoting the principles of safe access and inclusion for all UK digital TV consumers since it was established in 1995, it provides a pathway for emerging technology and standards by supporting market deployments and development.
Their membership joins up the entire digital TV ecosystem to provide a seamless experience for UK viewers, across all content, on all devices and it is exciting to be a part of this moving forward.
Why Finecast has become a member
Harry Harcus, Finecast’s UK Managing Director, comments:
“Becoming a member of a well-respected group like the DTG strengthens our place in the digital TV ecosystem,” he explained. “It gives Finecast a greater say in the strategy and standards of digital TV in the UK moving forward.
We pride ourselves on enabling advertisers to discover and reach new audiences through addressable TV. To do this, we partner with all the main UK broadcasters, as well as emerging new TV platform, ad technologies, and best-in-class data and measurement providers. Becoming a DTG member means we can extend this collaborative approach further and join a group committed to consensus setting technical standards, underpinning security, and innovation.”
How will we be involved?
As part of Finecast’s membership, I will also have a hands-on role as co-chair of the DTG’s ‘User Experience group’.
Here, members come together to consider the future of the viewing experience and investigate how best to optimise that experience using design and practical and commercially viable solutions.
Finecast’s work focuses on helping our clients reach the right audiences and inspiring and connecting with the viewers that matter to them. User experience is a significant part of achieving this and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share Finecast’s knowledge and experience in this area with fellow DTG members whilst simultaneously learning from industry peers.
How this benefits Finecast and our clients
There are a host of benefits to being a DTG member. This includes taking part in events such as the recent Waves of Change Summit, access to initiatives like the DTG Test Centre for a deeper understanding of market requirements and future direction and the D-Book (the only tech specification for DTT products and services in the UK), and greater opportunity to champion the industry and influence government policy. By extension, these benefits will help our clients, too; underscoring Finecast as a trusted partner to deliver exceptional audience data, holistic optimisation, and unrivalled platform access which then helps brands build awareness, attract new customers, build reach and, ultimately, succeed and grow.
